We are delighted to welcome Dr Donella Piper as the new Dean of Studies at Lincoln College.
Donella hails from Anaiwan and Kamilaroi country (the Northern Tablelands) in regional New South Wales. Over the last four years she has increasingly spent time in Kaurna country (Adelaide) to visit her adult children, and moved here permanently in 2022 to work at Health Translation SA (HTSA), in SAHMRI. Now she will be joining us as Dean of Studies at Lincoln College, supporting residents to achieve their academic goals and create great futures.
Donella holds several academic qualifications spanning law & regulation, business, health, social science and psychology, including a PhD combining Law and Health. She has a detailed understanding and experience of university environments, having taught at the University of New England, the University of Tasmania and Flinders University.
Donella has also held research positions at the Queensland University of Technology, The University of Technology, and The University of Newcastle. Her research has focused on consumer-centred health care, organisational communication and managing adverse events within organisations. You can find out more about her research here.
Donella has lived experience of being a rural student who was the first in family to attend university and was a resident of Mary White College at UNE whilst studying there.
Donella will co-ordinate Lincoln’s academic program, which aims to ensure residents achieve their academic goals by providing supporting for their academic studies and developing their leadership skills, confidence, and future networks. She will manage the Academic Team and work closely with the Academic Co-ordinator for 2023, Ms Neve Clark-Dollman.
We are excited about bringing Donella into the Lincoln community in 2023.
