Lincoln residents and alumni took a 10k run at 4:30 am with Nedd Brockmann, who ran from Perth to Bondi last year (3953km in 46 days). This run was raising money for We Are Mobilise, a charity that supports people through homelessness. In total, he raised $2.35 million. He’s now driving around Australia advertising Nedd’s Milk, a new fundraising endeavour which aims to raise $10 million for the same charity.

Lincoln College had the pleasure of hosting a Fireside Chat for our law students with Ms Leah Annese, Criminal Defence Lawyer and Team Leader at Legal Services Commission of South Australia.
Fireside chats are informal and casual conversations with people who have interesting and compelling opinions and experience.
The guest speaks with the interviewer or interviewer in the presence of an audience, rather than presenting or speaking to them with little back and forth.
Interaction comes between the guest and the interviewer with some input coming from the audience in the form of questions and answers.
Leah shared her professional backstory and experiences and answered questions from our students about:
- How to secure internships and work experience
- Professional networking opportunities
- Admission processes
- Legal specialisations
Lincoln College Law Students currently enjoy a 100% pass rate.
Applications are now open for 2024 https://lincoln.edu.au/

Join the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and harness their resources
Network and volunteer while you study (for example become a Lifeline Crisis Supporter)
Don’t let statistics put you off: Get a great book (for her it was Analysis without Anguish by Sheridan Coakes)

Lincoln College recently held its annual Business Law and Economics Panel. Panel sessions are held for every academic cohort, at least once a year.
Panels consist of Lincoln Alumni and friends who are leaders in their field. They are facilitated by the Academic Tutor responsible for the academic cohort of students to which the panel session relates. The panels begin with each panellist providing their professional backstory. Audience members then ask panellists questions. The panels conclude with an informal, wine and cheese, networking session.
The aims of our panel sessions are:
To provide a forum for our residents to ask any questions they may have to help guide their decision-making about their future career choices; and to introduce our residents to the concept of networking.
For this year’s Business Law and Economics Panel session were very fortunate to have the following four distinguished and experienced professionals in attendance:
Mr Graham Edmonds-Wilson – King’s Counsel
Ms Gabrielle Agnew – Publications Manager
Mr Dean Zaccardo - Investment Banker
Mr Peter Tziavrangos Non-Executive Director
Thank you to our panellists and our Business Law and Economics Tutor Ms Simone Palamara!

Lincoln College Leadership Transition
On Monday 23rd August, the Board of Lincoln College accepted the resignation of Dr Paul Tosch as CEO and Head of College. After nearly 6 years of service and leading the College through the challenging time of Covid-19, the Board acknowledges the service of Dr Tosch and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
Continuity, stability and security for Lincoln College staff and residents is at the forefront of the minds of all Board members to ensure there is little to no disruption to the vitally important studies and wellbeing of all. As such, we are very happy to announce that the Dean of Students, Dr Jordan Bell will move to the role of Acting Head of College & CEO with the full support of the Dean of Studies, Dr Donella Piper, and the Board, until a new CEO is appointed. Th Board has already begun the
search for the right appointment to continue the solid growth and activation of the strategic plan that was developed in the last 12 months as Lincoln College embarks on the next phase of growth including renewal of the Library and Gymnasium as well as refurbishment of a number of rooms.
Dr Bell will work closely with Dr Tosch over the next 3 weeks until Dr Tosch departs the College on 18th September. Dr Bell will then work in a “caretaker” role to ensure stability and continuity of all College functions until such time that a new CEO and Head of College is appointed.
Dr Bell has the full support of all staff and the Board in this vital role and after her 16 years of continued service, is the right choice to maintain the wellbeing and daily operation of the College.
Dr Bell and Jason Nelson as the Chair of the Lincoln College Board will remain available to address any queries or concerns and can be contacted via the College.
