Lincoln’s mentoring program lets you give back to the next generation of students.
Do you remember feeling a little daunted, like there were so many paths you could take, but not knowing how to choose?
Do you wish you’d had a mentor to help prepare you, give you some guidance and advice into what working life might look like, and where you should start?
At Lincoln College we have always helped our students achieve their academic goals, and now we are taking it one step further by providing them with an opportunity to work with a mentor.
That’s where you come in. We are proud to introduce a new program linking our college residents and alumni.
LINCOLN LINKS MENTOR PROGRAM
Available to our residents 3rd year or above, this program is designed to help students kick-start their careers.
What does it look like?
Think of it as 3 – 2 – 1
Coffee sessions between the student and mentor, allowing mentors to learn about the field students are studying in, allow the students to learn from your experience and help them plan for their first step into the workforce.
2. Recruitment Ready Steps
Mentors assist with students plans for becoming “recruitment ready”, with advice, reviewing their resumes and taking them through a mock interview.
The mentor aims to introduce the student to a person within their chosen area of interest of desired profession.
That’s just a handful of high-impact contact points, but a world of difference for the resident entering the working world.
When a student enrols in this structured program, they will commit to being prepared for the time they have with you as their mentor. You can set the times for the coffees/review/interview to take place, which provides you great flexibility.
Don’t underestimate the impact you could have on one of our students and their future.

OTHER NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
We aim to provide all our residents with valuable information and professional advice as they develop their skills and gather experience, looking to where their careers might take them.
Industry dinners, seminars, professional lecture series, careers advice, debates, resilience training and nominating for leadership positions are some of the opportunities residents can take advantage of during their stay at Lincoln.
If you want to share some of your knowledge and experience with a keen group of residents, contact the Dean for more information.
