SAAUCC Table Tennis

 In Sports and Games

A night of precision and mental stamina, SAAUCC Table Tennis showed off the best that Lincoln has to offer.

On our very own turf – the Lincoln common room and dining hall – our team was not backing down from the win. Scores of Marks, Aquinas, Anns, and Flinders residents came swarming in to support their teams, but Lincolnites were there in numbers to cheer on our players.

A gold coin donation at the door raised funds for Batyr, a preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. Batyr aims to smash the stigma surrounding mental ill health and empower young people to reach out for support.

In Div 1 girls, Jiawen stood strong against Anns, Aquinas, and Marks, winning all her sets, but going down to Flinders 2-1 in a well fought battle. Div 1 boys saw Delana take down Flinders and Aquinas in straight sets, but Marks and Anns proved formidable opponents.

For Div 2 girls, Megan put up a great fight against Marks and Aquinas, but the opposition put in a great game. But this didn’t phase Megan at all, and she came out on top against Anns and Flinders in straight sets. The same went for Sagar in Div 2 Boys, proving Marks and Aquinas to be strong competitors for the evening.

Sport sec Elisha, teamed up with Vinu for the mixed doubles, taking down Flinders, Anns, and Aquinas, in straight sets. They put up an admirable fight against Marks, but Marks proved to be the winning team of the evening.

Well done to our amazing players, they did very well to come in second. Tops to Marks for taking the top spot, and thanks to everyone for a great night.
