The Next Chapter: Celebrating Our Alumni

Our alumni are an important part of Lincoln College’s story, and we love hearing about the paths they have taken since their time at the College. Every story adds another chapter to Lincoln’s history, reflecting the many ways our community continues to grow, contribute and make a difference long after leaving College.

In a recent edition of The Lincoln Line, we featured alumna Dr Catherine Hocking, whose journey has taken her from studying music in Adelaide in the mid-1980s to a distinguished career in music and arts leadership in the United Kingdom.

Catherine warmly recalls her time at Lincoln, including the friendships she formed and walking back to the College after evening rehearsals with the University Choir. Since graduating, she has completed a PhD in medieval English music at the University of Cambridge and built a career combining her musical expertise with arts management. Today, she is Head of Music Programmes at the University of Nottingham, creating opportunities for students to discover their musical talents and creativity.

Her story is a wonderful reminder that the friendships, experiences and sense of belonging fostered at Lincoln can remain with us throughout our lives.

We would love to hear from you, too. Whether you have embarked on a new career, reached an exciting milestone, pursued further study or simply have news to share, we welcome updates from our alumni. Your stories help keep our community connected and inspire the next generation of Lincoln residents.
